In this national Associated Press story, Billy Quin discusses the verdict obtained for the firm's client, Charles West. Holbrook Mohr, the Associated Press reporter, made special note of United States District Judge Tom Lee's frustration with the $500,000 cap on non-economic damages in Mississippi. After noting Mr. West's pain and suffering, "which clearly has been extreme," Judge Lee stated that ‘‘but for the statutory cap, the court, taking into account future non-economic damages, would have been inclined to award more than $500,000.’’
